The Body Shop Concealer All-In-One. In this post now, I am gonna review a product from The Body Shop. It is provided/sponsored by Cosmekita when I attended their launching party. To read a full report on the event, please visit here.
The product that I got from Cosmekita goodie bag was The Body Shop Concealer All-In-One in shade no. 02.
This easy-to-blend concealer effectively covers imperfections and dark shadows. The lightweight but high-coverage formula stays in place for hours. With ingredients including vitamin E and marula oil, it?s make-up and skincare in one.
* High coverage
* Easy to blend
Since the product came with a stick shape, so the tube was provided by the lipstick-like one. It reminds me of a typical long-wearing/matte lipstick shape which comes with the slender, light, and silvery tube with a twisting way to make the product comes out. It’s quiet handy and sleek and practical to be slipped in your purse. When the first I got this thing, I wonder what thing it was, because there’s none of the information telling about the product, I couldn’t directly tell whether this product was a concealer or lipstick or else; since I also don’t use any The Body Shop’s products regularly as usual, practically I didn’t aware of that. I only predicted from the bottom tube that was written by number 02 then it should be a concealer.
The Consistency and Formula:
This concealer comes with a solid stick with something in the center of the concealer and it is considered as a moisturizer. Many people may have a drier skin and thanks to this because it will give you a more easy application on your dry under-eye skin. Since I saw it as a dual consistency product, so I bet that this is not the thing that would give any high coverage.
Ingredients: Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride (Emollient), Isononyl Isononanoate (Emollient/Skin Conditioner), Propylene Glycol Dicaprylate/Dicaprate (Emollient), Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2 (Emollient), Sclerocarya Birrea Seed Oil (Skin Conditioning Agent), Talc (Absorbent/Bulking Agent), Cera Alba (Emulsifier/Emollient), Nylon-12 (Absorbent/Bulking Agent), Candelilla Cera (Stabiliser), Copernicia Cerifera Cera (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Polyglyceryl-3 Beeswax (Emulsifier), Helianthus Annuus Seed Cera (Texture Additive), Adansonia digitata (Emollient), Stearalkonium Hectorite (Viscosity Modifier), Tocopheryl Acetate (Antioxidant), Aluminum Hydroxide (Opacifier), Dimethicone/Methicone Copolymer (Anticaking Agent), Propylene Carbonate (Solvent), Methicone (Skin Conditioning Agent). [+/- CI 77891 (Colour), CI 77492 (Colour), CI 77491 (Colour), CI 77499 (Colour)].
The Color Range:
I searched through The Body Shop Indonesia webpage and found that the product came out with 4 different shades that suit the skin tone accordingly. Since mine is number 02, this color seems lighter than my actual skin tone. I assume that number 02 is suitable maximum for NC20, while now I am NC 35 or so.
Color Chart L to R : 01, 02, 03, 04
According to the color chart, the number 02 seems more pink while I am a yellow-based skin tone one. In my opinion, this color is a salmon-like color and may suitable for under eyes only, of course for you that have panda eyes. As I know that salmon color/peach/orange is good to hide your under eyes’ black circle on any skin tone. Looking at that color chart, it also gives me an assumption that my suitable color of using this product is number 03, which way more yellow and a bit darker than number 02.
And here’s the swatch for the concealer color:
Looking at the exposed picture one, the color of exposed one is so much lighter comparing to the non exposed one which is more pink (as the color chart shown above). It’s just due to a different angle of lighting.
The coverage seems to be a sheer to medium one, but it is depending of how much you need the concealer on. Since it has the moisturizer core, the consistency may not be as full as promised. Again, since it doesn’t match my skin tone, so the result of this product on me is not really nice. But again, it does a good job of concealing my redness, pimple, and a bit of blurring the appearance of my big pores.
This concealer actually comes with a handy shape. According to price (Rp159,000) and contents (2,3gr), this product may be considered as middle range. The formula is really great. I have one from Revlon and this one is a way more smooth, easy to glide on, moisturizing, and easy to blend.
