Hello Beauty Invaders,
This time I want to blog in English. O my God, I miss blogging in English! LOL. It’s not like I hate blogging in Bahasa but I think this is the time for me to test out my writing in English. Hehehe.
Some of my friends have been knowing this brand for so long, while I have just heard of it. If it was not because of the video competition that the brand held some time ago, I would never ever heard of it. Hehehe.
ELIZABETH HELEN LIPSTICK
Elizabeth Helen has officially marketed in Indonesia this year, if I saw their social media. And by that, they held a promotional make up video competition on Instagram which I was the one of the winners. And speaking about their lipstick, I coincidentally found the one color that I like the most. This was the time out of the rare time I bought something without doing my own research before my purchase and I ended up liking it.
~ PACKAGING ~
I notice that Elizabeth Helen comes from Saudi Arabia and some of my friends call this lipstick as “lipstik Arab” which is presented with green and gold hue, from the carton box and to the lipstick case. I think the color choice is somewhat classy, and pretty much reminds me of Iedl Fitr color nuance. This lipstick contains of 4gr product which is pretty much standard for a lipstick.
The packaging material is not as sturdy as it looks. Though the gold color letters of Elizabeth Helen seem somewhat pretty to cover the front case, but I think the quality of the ink is not really good because it is easily torn.
Well, I don’t really have any issue to the most of the cosmetics ingredients out there that I have tried, but if some of you have certain allergies which you must be concerned, check out the list below.
COLOR AND PIGMENTATION
The one that I bought is number 15. I immediately picked this one up after swatching it on the back of my hand and seeing how pretty the color is. You know, right now is the time when everything in metallic is all the way around. Like, every thing from lipsticks, eyeshadows and elses. So, to cater my search of buying a cheap metallic finish lipstick, I chose this.
The color itself is pink with gold reflection. It has sheer finish and according to my opinion, it is suitable only if you have lip liner prior application.
Though the color is sooo damn pretty, I have to admit that the application is not that pretty. It tugs my lips a little bit and the feeling of the lipstick is drier than I expected, so lip balm is a must. The finish is a bit patchy and uneven if you have eyes like mine.
PRICE and PRODUCT AVAILABILITY
You can actually buy the product of Elizabeth Helen at Watson and Dan+dan Store. And if you are interested in buying online, you can go to BliBli.com
As the conclusion of this Elizabeth Helen lipstick which I have been wearing for a month or so, I must say this product is not really for you guys who have dry lips. I admit that I love the color, like love at the first sight, but the application is really not good. I’m afraid that I would break the lipstick bullet then it turned out I did so. So bear in mind that you need to swipe gently and with smooth motion. Hehehe. Plus, wearing lip balm prior lipstick application can help to smooth out your lips more.
I have tried to top it on the lip liners that I have and the result is not so bad. Here are the result that I took with lip liner under the lipstick.
The metallic effect is somewhat more subtle than wearing it alone. But, in the other hand, the dry effect after the application is also less than wearing it alone and it is less tugging the lips.
Over all, if you think that you are into the lip metallic trends right now, I guess you need to buy it. For less than Rp100,000 you can achieve that futuristic looking that everyone raves about today. Just remember to swipe it on gently.
Alright, that’s it for today. I hope you enjoy my review this time and until then, I’ll see you soon.
